Ultralight Joe's Excellent JMT Adventure
Just another example of the dozen or so different ways I pitch my tarp (when I bother to). This is the "cockroach", when I'm trying to keep out wind-blown rain and squirrels. :-) We made our goal of Franklin Meadow, at the entrance to the switchbacks taking us to Evolution Valley. Bear raids were a nightly event along this stretch of trail according to the base-campers who'd been around for awhile.
